Techline International Frequently Asked Questions
Tubing
All tubing is instrumentation tubing with average wall, 316 stainless steel, polished. China import is standard, and we can also provide Korean and domestic as well (based on quantities needed). A213/A269 spec.
Our standard stock sizes range from 1/8” to 1”, and standard 20’ lengths. If outside this range, we can source larger sizes based on needed quantities if required.
All tubing is pickled and annealed, 320 grit bright polished. Bright annealed tubing is available upon request but not stocked.
Please email us at info@techlineint.com, submit a request for quote here, or give us a call at 1-855-289-9334 to request a quote.
Dimensions for stainless tubing are recorded in length, outside diameter (OD) and wall thickness.
None. TLI does not offer coated tubing.
TechLine International offers stainless steel seamless tubing.
Applications for stainless steel tubing include steam, water, air for process industries, such as refining, chemicals, petrochemicals, etc. Our tubing is not used for oil transfer.
20 ft lengths are minimum lengths for ordering. Crating charges will also apply to any shipped orders. Amount of charge dependent on quantities ordered.
We will cut to length for a $3.00 per cut fee. 20 ft min order required. TechLine International tubing comes in 20 ft lengths
Yes. In many cases, TLI can ship same day.
We do not stock tube fittings.
Country of origin for TLI tubing may be China, Korea, U.S.
Please see chart for pressure loads.
Valves
Water, oil, and gas. Our typical valves are not used for steam or subzero temperatures, but if that is desired, we can source large quantities at customer request.
We offer private label valves for FNPT and compression end needs ¼ thru 1”, and have been providing the market with our Valves for over 25 years. We have resources through our manufacturing in Asia to source other valve requirements, based on larger quantities. We also have domestic resources for larger valve sizes.
· 11 Series – ¼”
· 25 Series – ¼” thru 1” ( standard sizes are ¼-1”, but we can provide large sizes on request)
· 50 Series – ¼” – 1”
TechLine International offers silicone-free valves in our 50 series. Our 11 and 25 series vales use food-grade silicone oil.
All valves except for 11 series come standard with a locking handle.
All valves under 1” are 2000# rated for water, oil, and gas. See chart for specific pressure/temperatures.
See drawings for specific valve dimensions and materials.
Neither are stocked normally, but we can source as needed.
Water, oil, or gas, in many industries, from heavy industries to car washes, and other applications.
Techline works with large Valve manufacturers in Asia that have proven quality records and have successfully passed our quality requirements. All valves come with material certifications (if needed) and are marked with heat codes for traceability.
TLI typically keeps six months of our typical usage of all common sizes in stock.
316 Stainless Steel
PTFE
They are efficient, affordable and durable, and are the preferred choice for many applications.
Ball valves work by having a rotary ball with a bore. As the valve turns the ball, it either shuts off the flow or opens the flow of whatever medium is being used.
TLI does not sell repair kits for ball valves. We have found that the kits are often as expensive as the valve itself, so we recommend replacing the whole valve.
Ball valves are used in a wide range of industries. Many types are used in the processing industries, such as chemical manufacturing, petroleum refining, liquid natural gas plants. Other smaller industries also use ball valves. For example, car wash facilities and other plumbing applications use ball valves.
Castings
Casting is a manufacturing process where a molten metal or other liquified material is poured into a mold to produce a product.
Casting is a manufacturing process where a molten metal or other liquified material is poured into a mold to produce a product. After being removed from the mold, the product may go through various treatments before a final product is completed. The casting process it typically used when other methods would be difficult or uneconomical.
Castings are used for the production of various products utilized in industrial settings. Some examples are
· Valve Bodies
· Fitting Bodies
· Car Parts
· Shafts
· Manifolds
· Cylinder Blocks
· Gears
Castings can be made of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and exotic alloys such as Hastelloy-C, Monel, and others.
We have provided valve bodies, valve handles, automotive parts, and oil pump housings, among other items.
Forgings
Forging is the heating of metal and shaping it into parts through mechanical or hydraulic means.
In manufacturing today, forging is most commonly performed by forging presses or hammering tools that are powered by hydraulics, compressed air, or electricity.
Common forging products including
· Valve Bodies
· Fitting Bodies
· Car Parts
· Shafts
· Manifolds
· Aluminum
· Carbon Steel
· Stainless Steel
· Custom Grades
· Non-Ferrous
· Valve Bodies
· Fitting Bodies
· Car Parts
· Shafts

Actuators
A valve actuator is a mechanism for opening and closing a valve, often as a part of automation process control, and/or typically in a remote area where manual operation is not convenient.
As part of the automation process control system, valve actuators open and close a valve, often in a remote area. Valve actuators are found in process plants, including power plants, refineries, chemical plants, waste water treatment plants, and others.
Actuator types include manual, pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, and spring.
TLI sells pneumatic valve actuators
Actuators are used for opening and closing valves for water, oil, gas, steam, and other products. TLI valve actuators are used for water, steam, and gas. Our valves are not used for oil.
TLI does not manufacture valve actuators. We source our actuators from Habonim.
TLI carries Hobonim valve actuators, which have proven to be a quality product. We offer both spring return and double acting units.
To order an actuator from TLI, request a quote here, email us at info@techlineint.com, or call us at 1-855-289-9334.
To determine the sizes needed, review the information in the Habonim brochure information located in the Resources section of the website.
Hobonum actuators are manufactured in Israel per strict requirements of the European and USA markets.
Custom Parts
TLI typically works with customer for custom parts for large orders for smaller parts. This is a long-term process with purchase agreements over time.
The first step is a phone call with a TLI representative to see if the custom part needed is a good fit with TLI skillsets. If so, TLI can utilize a customer’s drawing to work with overseas manufacturers. Or, if no drawings exist, TLI can work with the customer to develop drawings and then a prototype of the part before the manufacturing process beings.
First, drawings must be developed. Once a drawing has been approved, TLI works with our manufacturing entities to develop the prototype. Once that is customer approved, manufacturing can begin.
TLI has typically produced custom parts using aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
Once the final prototype has been approved, TLI works with international manufacturers to product the parts. The manufacturing process is determined by the product needed. For example, they may be produced using casting or forging methods.
TLI has produced valve bodies, manifolds, specialty clamps, valve handles, specialty housings and more for various customers.
TLI has supplied custom parts for numerous industries, mostly in the industrial space. These include chemicals, petrochemical, refining, power generation, waste management, and more.
TLI has developed both blank parts (where customers later perform the machining needed), or finished products.
Prototype Development
TechLine International addresses any needs or required based on specific requests for the parts needed or type of part needed, such as bar stock-forged, bar stock-machined, or cast (loss-wax, gravity, sand, investment, etc.)
This process may take 3-6 months or longer, depending on complexity, feedback of customers, number of reiterations, etc. The purpose is to get exactly what the customer is specifying.
Engineering is handled completely between our customer and the manufacturer. We act as a middle man only.
Inventory Management
Typically, we develop an agreement where there is a set time with release dates within a certain time period.
This is determined by the agreement in place, the product volumes, and the release dates within that agreement.
